ACSG 2026: Beyond Borders. The Future of Assessment.
In a world defined by rapid change and growing complexity, the way organisations identify, assess, and develop talent is being fundamentally re-examined. An Assessment Centre is a standardised and structured evaluation process in which candidates complete multiple job-related exercises – such as interviews, simulations, and group activities – so assessors can measure their skills, behaviours, and potential for a specific role.
As the next decade promises new challenges and opportunities, the question is not only whether Assessment Centres will remain relevant, but how they will adapt to inspire confidence and deliver meaningful insights in a shifting landscape. Assessment Centres can no longer be confined by traditional boundaries – disciplinary, geographic, methodological, or conceptual.
From the 23rd to the 27th of March 2026, Evalex will attend and present at the highly prestigious 46th Annual Assessment Centre Study Group (ACSG) Conference. We invite you to join a collective journey of discovery as we navigate the changing world of talent management.
The Theme: Assessment Centres and Assessment 2026: Beyond Borders.
The Assessment Centre Study Group (ACSG) is a special interest group of practitioners in South Africa that hosts annual events on assessments and assessment centres.
The theme is a call to move past the limits of yesterday. It is an invitation for practitioners and leaders to explore what Assessment Centres must become to remain relevant and impactful in the decade ahead. By bringing together diverse voices, we aim to inspire new thinking and collaborative solutions and set a clear direction for the future of talent assessment.

A New Chapter: AI and Human Insight on the Agenda
A primary objective of this year’s conference is to navigate the intersection of technology and tradition. At Evalex and across the ACSG community, we view technology as a partner for human judgment, not a replacement. This “New Chapter” in our field focuses on how Artificial Intelligence can enhance the rigour, consistency, and scalability of our methodologies without losing the human element.
Our discussions will showcase how AI can be used to identify complex patterns and provide instant feedback, freeing up experts to focus on deeper talent strategies. We will explore how these updates ensure that the wisdom of the Assessment Centre remains flexible and accessible, whether for remote teams or large-scale applicant pools.
