SIOPSA 2022: Industrial psychology as a force for good
Evalex and Odyssey are proud to be attending and presenting at the SIOPSA 24th Annual Conference to be held virtually on the Whova platform from 13 to 15 July 2022.
Building on the previous 2021 conference theme (Re-humanising work), the theme for the 2022 conference requires us to think beyond the traditional application of industrial and organisational psychology. More specifically, we need to think about the role of industrial and organisational psychology and its relevance to other stakeholders (and not just organisations) – in essence, industrial, and organisational psychology without borders.

Evalex is very well represented at this year’s conference, with a number of presentations taking place:
Our CEO, Adj. Professor Pieter Bronkhorst, will present on the ‘Implementation of AI Development Centre’ (Case Study) on 13 July between 14h15 and 15h15. This presentation will be based on the application of our recently launched online AI-enabled leadership development programme (Elea).
Our Business Development Director David Bischof, will be representing the People Assessment in Industry (PAI) group, which is a SIOPSA interest group with a Master Tutorial entitled ‘The lay of the Land – the latest innovations in the Assessment Landscape – Technology, Legislation and everything in-between’. This presentation will take place on 13 July between 11h30 and 12h30.
David will also be joining the Assessment Standards South Africa (ASSA) team for a presentation entitled ‘Assessment classification and review processes for South Africa: A best practice approach’, which will take place on 14 July between 14h00 and 15h00.
One of our colleagues, Prof. Jurgen Becker, along with Matthew Kleineibst, will be presenting “The Inconvenient Truth: Examining the cost of workplace deviance”. This presentation will take place on 13 July between 16h30 and 17h30. Kevin Distiller, our MD of Odyssey Talent Management, was involved in the research presented in this session.
